I recently finished rebuilding a 1984 351w I changed from v belt to serpentine , then learned that the water pump would have to bv changed because of the new belt's rotation. My local NAPA dealer can not find what year Ford changed the 351 to a serpentine belt
someone please help so I can replace my water pump
your going to need a timing cover as well i just went through this whole deal you need a timing cover and pump from a 85 or 86 +... 302 or 351w or it wont line up right and wont cool right if ur trying to keep the mech fuel pump ur gunna need an after market piece and those are around $120 from JEGS (thats where i got mine) and you can just get a newer water pump and it will all work together.
yea you can go to one i did most of the stuff i use is JY parts i have an in with the local yard and he sells me parts for their scrap weight so i tend to use the JY as much as possible.
