Well after much research and thought, I figgured out how to get more usefull power and better MPG out of a 5.4...
And gained a 4" lift, 35" tires, bed liner, 17" Pro Comp Wheels and a sunroof...
All I had to do was trade the F250 in on a 2007 F150 FX4, I'll miss this forum however. But the list of crap to make the crew cab F250 drive like it should just didn't add up compared to this already set up F150. Many mods to come, now just for fun, not need.
What didn't you like about the superduty? Just the MPG? Seems like the same truck except for the obvious smaller size. Not sure how the lift and big tires will offset any MPG gains from the smaller truck.
curious why u didnt just do the same mods to ur SD instead ???
when i was truck shopping i looked at a supercrew F150 briefly.. but teh bed was to small and i really wanted a solid axle front end...i do like the interior of the F150s thou..
esp with the center console.. very classy-luxury level fit n finish in there...
It's obvious you were looking for power over towing/hauling. Why didn't you just get the 150 from the get go? It should have been a no brainer. Now maybe you can drop in the SC lightning motor. lol
We-Won-It, The SD was a grand prize from Winasuperduty.com. I don't tow more than a 19' R.V. or small horse trailer, so the SD was more than I really needed. The 5.4 with 3.73 gears was gutless with all that extra weight, I hate to say it, but it was. If it had come with a V10 or diesel, I'd still be driving it. I'll look back in to the SD when they have proven that new Scropion diesel due in 2011.
The 5.4 in the f150 is a nice setup. They're nice trucks too. Some people debate whether they are really trucks, but I like them. I woujld have gotten one a few years ago if the seat fit me better.
