I tried your guyses tips on how to improve my truck's gas mileage. new o2 sensor, it already had stock tires 235/75/R15 Bf Goodrich Land Terrain. Had a tune up at 146,000 and at 149,350 now and am getting about 14 with town and an occasional highway driving. around 225 miles front tank and 230 rear. the truck also has dual exhaust. thanks
wat kind of truck r u runnin
u should try high test, gas electric fan, headers 2 1/2" y pipe, manaflow highflow cat, 2 1/2" dynomax muffler rated for 305hp, 235/70/15 street tires, k&n cold air intake setup, underdrive pullies, ford motor craft spark plugs and locker in rear, 3.55 gears,
after all that im gitting a firm 22 higway, 18/19 city
1994 ext. cab F150 2wd 302
thats alot of stuff to do to it and a lot of money also, im also runnin a 4x4 so i dont expect much more mpg im eventually gonna put 31x10.50xR15 BF Goodrich Mud Terrains so i know its gonna drop then
Do you have a tach? What is your driving style? If you want better mpg you need to drive like an old man. A vac gauge is pretty cheap and easy to install, that might help.

Yeah, if you drive like us old men, you can get 12.5mpg out of a 460 in a F-250....Vacuum gauge helps, but keeping your foot off the floorboard helps the most.
Id hate to think what my old Highboy with a 390 gets for mileage....thankfully the speedo/odo isnt connected,so i cant tell.....but its not a large number,i'll wager....

I'm 19 but I drive my f-250/460 like an old man, everybody makes fun of me for it... I'm also the only one of them with a perfectly clean driving record, so it pays off in more ways than one...
Well, I don't know about the getting old thing. I'm on the south side of the big Five Zero and I'm only getting 10mpg on a good day. Normal driving habits, no zoom zoom exhaust.
Hopefully this theory kicks in soon. My wallet hurts whenever I fill both tanks.
