Just wondering if anyone has succesfully installed one of these overdrive transmissions into one of our trucks, 2X2 or 4X4. I have wanted to get the RPM’s down and leave the driveline gears alone but the price and modifications were just to expensive to warrant the change.
What type of engine and trans are you now running? If you have a C-4 or C-6 trans, you can leave the trans attached as is and add a gear-vendor over/under splitter to the tail. It will cut your RPM by 25% at the final drive and give you more like a six speed trans in the process. Just a thought.

The truck I have now is a 1966 4X4 428 FE, NP435 with the Dana21.
