That is the factory keypad that only locks and unlocks (as well as setting off the panic alarm) the vehicle. Excursions do not have a factory security alarm. Like Monsta mentioned, maybe somebody has done a poor job of adding some type of aftermarket alarm system/remote start.

i did it again today and I dont know how... It was some sequence like "lock unlock lock" or vice verse but I cant get it to do it again!
So the cruise control light comes on in the dash like its set but does not maintain the speed...

so I got a Prestige AS997 Alarm/remote start system installed today. Now I need to troubleshoot the cruise control.
So i turn the ignition on with OFF pressed in the cruise control. The CC light on the dash lights up. I press ON and it flashes once. None of the other buttons cause a flash in the criuse control light.
