Excursion Noob!

Just bought a 2000 Excursion Limited v10.

So far, love it... a few things I have to fix here and there... Drivers power lock doesnt work, cruise control does not turn on, overdrive button does not work.

Is there a way to check online if my VIN has had any recalls done to it yet? I know there are 4 recalls that may apply. Can I check this without calling Ford? Thanks for the info!

You can post your VIN in the "OASIS REQUEST" thread that is on top of the Super Duty forum. That report will tell you what has been done and if anything is outstanding.

Sounds like you need to go through the fuse box and check for bad fuses, huh?

I don't think the 2000 has the code anywhere on it. Use this method;
Weak security in our daily lives@Everything2.com Click on WEAK. Re-setting should be in your manual.

So somehow today playing with the factory alarm controller I was able to remote start my truck. I have NO IDEA how I did this. Is there a secret, g14 classified sequence that causes this?

Sounds like you have an aftermarket remote start. Find the controller under the dash to determine the brand and then find the place around who sells those so that they can get you the info on it.

Many a problem has been posted here that stems from an aftermarket alarm or remote start whose installation has been cobbled together by two semi-drunk guys in their garage.
