I posted recently about high egt's. Lots of thoughtful answers and they were appreciated.
I turned my fuel down 1.5 flats or in my estimation 90 degrees. The fuel had been turned up 110 degrees, so i think I'm still advanced 20 degrees or about 1/3 flat. George D told me how to increase the boost, so I shortened the waste gate rod by a total of 6 turns or threads. With 28 tpi, then I've decreased the wastegate rod almost 1/4 inch. At low RPM I still get a small puff of black smoke, but at speed I see nothing.
I have not tested the truck loaded, but running empty, I can pull these hills at 2600-2800 rpm and keep the egt's at 1000. Most of the hills I have to drop to 3rd.
I actually think I could have gone back to the stock fuel setting, because I still have good power. My boost seems to go to 5 psi fairly quickly. I saw 7 lbs of boost one time when I got on it hard, so I'm fairly close to my desired setting of 8 lbs.
Now I hope to get the speedometer working again next week.
