I just bought these plugs so I can change mine out tommorrow and I just noticed that they don't have a "crush sleeve" on them, now I can see why, if you overtighten them, they will pull the threads right out of the head. Anyone else notice this? I will be attempting this "feat" tommorrow.

Take them back and get Motorcraft would be my thoughts. Ford sold the Autolite name to the Fram, Bendix P&D Ign. Co, way back in the late 70s or early 80s. I know some say they're made by the same company but big deal Michelin makes tires for Sears .. but not to Michelin specs.
And where did you hear that? Autolite is Honeywell brand. Autolite makes the original Motorcraft plugs. However, the part you listed is not the right on for your truck. I can tell right off the line because its not a double platinum, and your truck must have the correct double platinum plug. I would take them back and tell them to get you the right part.
if you install autolite plugs in a 5.4 V8, be prepared to do the job twice. it may work, but there are quite a few mis fires on plugs other than Motorcraft, in the 5.4 motor. Why? i dont know.
If you cross ref Motorcraft# AGSF22WM.....converts to AP103 which is a single platinum finewire plug
If it doesn't have the crush ring, it would be better to get the motorcraft. They don't cost that much more than the Autolite on RockAuto. I would send the AP103 back.
Ok plugs are done...Went and got ones from the dealer....Bea River..have you ever checked the original Motorcraft plugs? I spoke with dealer and they have never had a crush ring on them. The seat in the head is tapered, so a crush sleeve wouldn't work on it anyhow.

Rich
