Windshield Wipers!
what size wipers are you running?
a 22" will fit just fine, and a 24" can just barely squeak under there
but the tech manual calls for a 20" blade

if you are running anything larger than that 20" blade, it makes the skipping problem worse.
the 20" seems optimal to prevent the skipping.
I ran 22" and 23" blades on my F-150. I only experienced chatter when the windshield was dry.

I run the factory 20" size blades, i thought about 22's but the 20's seemed to work ok, and i don't think they had any 22's in the neoform when i was there either, i know on my old ford i ran blades about 4" longer than stock with no problems either. i will try the spring tension thing as suggested too, it just frustrates me that the dealer didn't even seem concerned or bothered when i was explaining this problem to him, it drives me up the wall when i have to drive in the rain, and at the moment all we seem to be getting is rain! Thank you all for all your help, will keep you posted on whether the spring adjustment works out or not! Thank you again!

ok, well today it finally stopped raining long enough to where i could go and finally look at my windshield wiper arms, someone had suggested putting the spring in a different hole to increase the tension, but there is only one hole on both sides of the spring so there is no way to adjust it there, and after looking at the wiper arm after i took it off the truck i could see no other way of adjusting anything except the position of the arm on the windshield by moving that little key thing. so any other suggestions are more than welcome, and by the way the inside of my wiper arm (the reciever for where the "nut" that is connected to the motor) says 2005 on it i don't know if that makes a difference or not? Thank you again for your help!

ok may have come up with a solution, at least for my truck, and i know there were a few guys a little interested about this so i thought i would dig up this old thread! Anyways, i was sat there in a parking lot in my truck thinking about anything and everything, and somehow i got to thinking about this issue again, i had a sudden urge to jump out of my truck and switch the drivers side wiper arm for the passenger one to see if that helped any, and sure enough 30 seconds later i had a huge smile on my face as the wipers moved effortlessly and smoothly across my windshield even dry! now before anyone mentions it, the drivers one has a "D" on the inside of the arm and likewise the passenger has a "P" so i know they were not installed incorrectly in the first place! there is not a lot of difference between the two, on the glass the drivers one now actually looks kinda level (in relation to the dash) at rest, whereas before it kinda slanted down a little, it also "swipes" (for the want of a better word!) across the screen about 1/2 an inch higher on the glass than it did, and likewise the passenger one 1/2 lower, but other than that they are fine and NO CHATTERING!!! such a little thing but drove me crazy every time it rained, hopefully this will work for some of you too!

I just went out and checked mine, they are on there corect. I did minimize my chatter by cleaning the windshield with a good cleaner and then not getting any wax or detailer on it. I regularly just buff the overspray, detailer, wax as you dry or whatever off teh glass when I'm done with the paint. something I've done for years, makes the water bead and the glass shine, but on this truck it also seems to have made the chatter.
I use Rain-x and actually at one point thought that it was the reason for the chatter! and just to clarify, i actually swapped the drivers side for the passenger, they were installed correctly to begin with! so the passenger wiper is on the drivers side and visa versa, and that is how i will be leaving it by the look of it!
I use the Rain-X washer fluid year-round and have never had a blade chatter. The blades seem to last a lot longer also(?). I didn't read the first page, so I don't know if that was already mentioned or not.
i have the neoforms on my htey are kind of similar but still skipped! though they would have cured it!
Wiper Geometry
Besides new blades, checking tension and cleaning the windshield, there is one more thing you can check. Stop the wiper arm in mid stroke by cutting off the key when they wiper reaches that position. Check that the wiper arm is exactly parallel to the windshield. Lift the arm slightly and makes sure the edge of the blade is pointing straight at the windshield at a 90 degree angle. Any misalignment can be fixed by wrapping a towel around the wiper arm and taking two sets of pliers to twist the arm slightly into the correct position. Most skidding wiper blades are caused by the following in order:
1. Oil/grease on windshield (Dawn works well)
2. Worn blades
3. Incorrect wiper arm tension (there is a gauge for this)
4. Incorrect wiper arm alignment
Also if you have a rock pitted windshield, you will go through blades at a rapid rate.
