About a week ago I was driving through town when i noticed my turbo was extremely whiny. It sounded awesome. Upon further inspection i noticed my airfilter had come loose and removed itself from the pvc elbow(home brew intake). My question If I were to had a second airfilter could I get thus desired whine from my turbo? I understand that the engine will only suck so much air,but with dual filters I would think it would be able to breath easier .

Do you still have the stock filter? If so, you might consider swapping to a
Tymar intake with the 6637 filter. You'll be able to hear the turbo and have great airflow & filtratration.

X2 what he said. And Two filters (6637) are overkill IMHO.
I think he just wants more whine from the turbo, it might be possible with two filters to get more whine, but depending on where you live why not just go strait pipe? I run strait piped and i can hear the turbo sing great. Similar to what superduty4x4 said, do what you like best it is your truck.(besides if you purchase the extra filter and you dont like it, atleast you have a spare filter and may only be out a few bucks from the pvc t joint.)
I noticed my turbo "sings" alot better after I opened up the exhaust. If you've modified the intake tract, but not the exhaust, you're still buttoned up.
The new downpipe and exhaust is what made my truck sing, not the filter.
That air filter was made by spectre the company that makes rice rocket pieces that they sell at auto zone. they sell pieces for 4" intakes at Napa I have one othose filters on the 6637 style setup I built from napa using polished aluminum pipes made by spectre too. havent seen that "Y" pipe like that before though.
My exhaust is all done big down pipe and diamond eye catless exhaust. Don't get me wrong here I have whine and it is nice ,but I would like more. Some guys like smoke I like whinnnnnne. Thanks for the comments and pics
When I added my Tymar intake the turbo did whine more. This was even without an upgraded exaust. I don't think it's because the filter itself makes it louder, I believe it's because the old stock air filter box is removed, which probably insulated the cab from turbo noise. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Good news is I just added a turbo back exaust, 3 - 3.5 DP to 4 inch, this weekend and it really sings now !
