09 F150 Platinum Mirror Conversion HELP
I have the Manual Trailer Tow Mirrors and would like to replace them with the Power Folding Mirrors. I called the dealership and he told me all the parts I need to do the conversion, but can't tell me If the truck is prewired for the folding mirrors. So my questions are.
1. Is the truck wired for the folding mirror?
2. How does the door panel come off?
Any information will help

I don't recall where I read it but I believe a while back it had been posted that the truck may not be prewired. There is a relay required for the power-fold option that is mounted I think behind the A pillar trim. Regardless of its location, I read a post where the harness wasn't there if it didn't come from the factory with the option already installed.
If you find out differently, please post.
Seems like the old practice of using one common wire harness for all models and options has stopped. I know of a few other options where the required wiring isn't in place if the truck didn't leave the factory with the options installed.

yeah, like I mentioned to him on another forum, the key issue is the power folding relay module and switch in order to actually make them power folding. None of the 04-08 F150 trucks were ever "pre-wired" with the power folding relay. Everyone had to do a custom wiring job in order for them to work.
Now, the Platinum may have the best chance to be prewired with the folding relay module since the standard mirrors are the power folding mirrors instead of the optional tow mirrors like you got. You'll have to tear your truck apart and see if you can find where the power folding relay module is mounted. And you might need the power folding mirror switch too.
