Happy
Just gaot back from my planned trip to Penn. State to see my cousin graduate. I was a little skeptical when I left as I just had the truck to the dealer for some work, Turbo Issue. I have to tell you that I am really happy with the performance of the truck. The trip totaled about 950 miles all together, I went through about 40 gallons of fuel...not so much as a hiccup rom the old girl.
I am going to service it this week, New oil and fuel filters, Rotella Synthetic, and a tire rotation. I need to give my dealer and the techs. there som rpops again..they are awesome.
I just figured I'd post this with all the negativity since I have been gone.

(I can't help but quote this: "As a good friend of mine (from Pitt) always said - better a trip to Penn State than the State Pen ............ but maybe not much better").
edit:
Seriously though .... Congratulations!!! on the cousin's graduation - good school. I know it is a big occasion. My son is also graduating. I am looking forward to the "virtual" pay raise.
Interesting post, Sarge. I just got back from my graduation trip/work trip/fishing trip up in the mountains, and my truck also ran well, the first real test since going to the dealer for repairs. I had trouble with climbing the steeper passes, some spurting/surging, at times almost catastrophic. Well, they replaced the CHRA (center hub rotating assembly) and the baro sensor, and it's all good. Plus 19.5 mpg...so I am now putting my sell plans on hold. I did fuel filters and oil today, as they were due, taking it in for tranny fluid, coolant flush and power steering fluid at a friend's garage later this week. BTW, thanks Mark for your recent post on the proper fluids for the above, that will guide those endeavors.
Hasta la vista,
Dan
I am not sure if it was quite 20, but it was up there. I havent filled up yet fron the trip I have about 1/4 tank left and wanted to replace the fuel filters before I filled up. So I giess thats about 10-15 gallons left and I have 482.8 miles on this tank so far. I know I will be darn close to 20 mpg, maybe 18-19 will be more like it.
I was running Innovatives Street Tune also. All in all way happy, for the cousin and they way the truck ran. I am going to call and let the service manager know what a great group of folks they have there. Awesome

Hey Mark,
I deleted your PM before I sent the message. None takin, I am easy going and sometimes have to edit myself too as there are a lot of sensitive people around now a days...not me though.

I cant believe it myself but it was 20.56 mpg. Hand calculated and it was about the same for both tanks of fuel. The weird thing is that the lie-o-meter said 13.5 Obviously its not calculated for the larger fuel tank. But all in all I am extremely happy again.

Thanks again for the P.I.E. I installed it so I could use my IPOD. Working well. However, I used an upfitter switch for power and I didn't realize that the switch was hot ONLY w/ the key on. I will have to change that in the future. I know you put yours on the PowerPoint, but I just didn't want to cut wires. Also - I was very pleased at how easy the dash removal was!

Thats very good fuel mileage it equaled 23.75 MPG.
The dealer that gets the reps. is Latham Ford.
Mark,
I didnt want to cut any wires either. I used a T-Tap and a insulated T Connector so I could easily remove it if needed and wouldnt damage anything. So that is another way to do it. Thats why the Insulated Tees were on there.

Nice thing is the exhaust brake wasnt an issue as initially thought. The grin was big but I dont see that kind of mileage all the time. I do mostly drive city but its nice to know that the old girl has the potential to do it.
