well big ben its good to see you've made friends here!!!!
stosh does come down pretty hard on everyone all the time, but he's still a good guy, and no offense but asking questions like this is like going to a KKK meeting and trying to discuss equal rights..... not going to end well
did you decide not to do this swap? I'm looking at putting a 94 interior into my 86, for 2 reasons - 1. Support my impending powerstroke swap, 2. I just don't like the interior of my truck which is in pretty poor shape from 20 years in the Texas sun. I love the 86 Body, not so much the interior. Ever try to get good parts for a 80-86? My cruise quit working long ago, all the junkyard cruise switches are bad as well, my climate controls don't work, and the switches are all bad. I'm tired of it. Should I just get the whole parts truck, or should I get just the interior. I've got a guy with a 94 and he'll sell the whole interior for $100.
The interior is not real a real option any more, and the cummings swap is not even started, but it will be done sometime down the road. However the tilt is done as well as the lift. The PO(previous owner) let this truck sit for 4 years in a field.
I had built this truck back in 03 and sold it to him in 04, and like I said he let the thing rot. That is the reason for the interior swap, because he let it go so bad. I will now have to gut the entire thing. This is the reason I am not going to be selling the truck. I had to sell the truck in the first place to help put me and my wife through school. Now that I have it back I will never sell it again because I DO love the body style. It sucks seeing something you worked so hard on turn into a pile of *****.
I would like to get one thing straight. I am not normaly an ******* like this, but I will not back down from someone being completely out of line. I expected some negitive feed back, but not the total bull **** reaction you 2 guys gave me. I know you guys feel passionate about these truck, but come on you have to be a little open minded about some things. If you don't think it is going to look good tell me, but in a sensible way, don't blast me for no reason. Now if I had come on here and acted like a 14 year old kid with terrible spelling and talked like I had a foot in my mouth I would have expected it. Hey I was asking a smiple question and got blasted and I reacted. Thats life, you get treated like you treat other people.
Here are some pics of the tilt front and the 9 inch lift. Plans changed since I bought a house, but you will have that. Paint is in pretty rough shape, but its a project. Also sorry for the long awaited response.
There is a latch on the bottom side of each fender that "attach" the fender. Also on the top of the fender there is a round tube which slides into another tube for added support. From sitting for the last 5 years in a field they(bottom hinges) have gotten pretty rusty and will be getting changed, but I will still get a pic for you as well as the front hinges.
That is a pretty cool setup with the tilt nose. One question that I have is did you relocate the battery or is it just out of the truck or tilted up with the nose?
