83 to 94 interior?

I was wondering if it is possible to switch of the interior of the 83 to a 94 interior? I would like to switch out mainly the dash and cluster. Has any one done this?

The 92+ speedometer is electrically driven, not cable driven like your current speedometer. Last I heard, rmattlowe(spelled right?) was working on that swap.

Cool. I am not scared of a challenge. I have access to a mint 94 interior. How are the speedos driven on the 94? Do they mount in the same location as they 83's only have an electronic sender? I have a C6 in it now and I am not sure what is in the 94, I know there is a 300-6 in the 94, just don't know that trans.

The '94 uses a VSS on the rear end housing.

Are you planning on keeping the 83 bed and front clip on the truck?IMO,it will look a bit weird to have a curvy dash on an otherwise square truck. But that's just my two cents.I'm suprised Stosh hasn't jumped in on this thread. But either way you go,good luck man.

If you like the interior of the 92-96 so much then buy one.

That dash does not even come close to looking correct in an 80-86. There is NOTHING round on our body style in case you haven't noticed.

lol.I guess he couldn't help himself.

But Stosh,if he switches to the 92-96 Front clip and bed, then it will look correct.

And, if I recall, the dash support mounting brackets won't match up at all, the instrument
wiring isn't the same, the heater/AC controls aren't the same, you'd need to migrate over
the door panels, stuff like that.

That will be a COMPLETE waste of time.

Why go through all that work when you can just go and but a '92-'96 F150? It's not like they are rare or something.

IMO a clean 80-86 is a LOT more desireable than any 92-96 that everyone has.
