I am thinking of swapping a T18 for a NP435.
Will they line up?
Are shafts the same length?
Any other things I might run into before i decide
to do it or not.
The 435 does have a lower granny, but, it's only a marginal difference. As for putting it in, the case is a couple inches shorter.

I misquoted myself. My NP435 has 2 broken
internal gears and a cracked top cover. I can get
a T-18 for less $$ than repairing the NP435. Thats the only
reason I'm considering the swap. But if they dont line
up or shaft problems then thats a different story. Just looking
for info if its worth fixing the NP or dropping in the T-18.
I had a T18 in my 79 while I was waiting for parts for my NP435. The T18 will bolt in but you will need the transfer case adapter. The transfer case is the same. I am asuming your truck is a 4x4.

If you are in Michigan I would be interested in your NP435 main shaft, if its a 4x4 trans.
