I'm not going to use that air cleaner on the motor, I just put it on there to stop stuff from floating in. I have a carb hat with a 4" tube and a cone filter that I will be using. I'm thinking I may need a bigger cone filter though for the reason you posted.

I've done everything I can until I get some parts tomorrow. I got my remote oil filter kit mounted, I ran the tank vent line through a check valve and into the manifold, attached the oil cooler lines, alt. belt, and all the wiring and gauge connections. If all goes well I will be firing it up tomorrow afternoon. Here you can see where I mounted the remote kit. I used the bracket that originally held one of the charcoal canisters. No more letting oil drain all over my crossmember and front axle when I remove the filter.
