Thanks I ordered the combo from Ford. I'll keep my old one incase I find my key.
What combo did you order from Ford for a 1969?
The switch is sold by itself: D1AZ11572C (Motorcraft SW1054) and fits 1968/70 F100/750 ONLY.
When you get this switch, it comes with a separate pigtailed wire plug.
The switch you remove may have this plug, it may not...here's why.
The original ignition switch used in 1968/69 F100/750's, some 1970 F100/750's (before serial number G90,001) and 1968/69 Galaxie/LTD's was defective, shorted out and caught FIRE!
In midyear 1970, Ford came out with a new switch to replace the original (D1AZ11572C). BUT...
There were no mandatory Gov't recalls back then, which means Ford Motor Company did not notify the owners.
It was up to the dealers to contact all the owners of the vehicles they sold to have them bring their vehicles in to have the switch replaced.
Most did...some did not...which means you could still have that defective ignition switch....without the separate pigtailed plug.
I post my switch # tommorow. I was going to pick it up on the way to work. Thanks for the heads up. I shure wouldn't want something like that happen to my truck after all the work thats been put into it by me and some of my friends.

Since your on the subject of ignition-switches. I'll jump in here..My 1971 f250 has the switch with the round contacts, Had hard starting for the longest time until checked it. I replace with a same pigT type switch. Now I was thinking about changing it to a new one with the blade type plug contacts. #DOTZ-11572-A This I/Switch looks to have much heaver contacts then the mind with the round one's where the ignition contact is a smaller and has to get hot then they warp cooks itself in time and become N/G. then need replaceing again. (Thanks for any put...N/D=bill)

DOTZ11572A .. Ignition Switch (Motorcraft SW944)
Fits: 1970 F100/750 after serial number G90,001 / 1971/72 F100/750.
------------------------------------------------------------------- D1AZ11572C .. Ignition Switch was a FoMoCo replacement for the defective switch of C8AZ11572.
Even though it has a 1971 part number prefix, it was not used in 1971 or 1972!
Switch # D1AZ-11572-C Cylinder # C9AZ-11582-A I'll install tommorow and start wiring the truck. I need to exhaust on it soon. Every time I start the truck it scares the (!@#$%^) out of the poor dog.
