My Bronco isn't my DD anymore, and I'll never have to tow with it again. I have a body-lift sitting in the garage, waiting on the poly body-bushings to get here. Instead of jacking with the rear-bumper, I want to remove it, the hitch, and the spare-tire carrier, and smooth the back of the truck out. I need a steel rollpan, but I can't find one. I want to fully weld, and smooth it so it looks like part of the cab. Does anyone know someone that has them?
If not, is it feasable to get a thin sheet of metal, spot-weld it across the top, and then bend (curving the entire sheet to match the lines of the body), and weld on each end as you go down? I don't weld, but my father-in-law does. Any help would be appreciated.
I had one made for my 66 F100 4x4 at a local sheet metal shop. They even put in a place for the lic. plate. At the time cost was $75, but that was a couple of years ago.
