Door alignment

The drivers door on my 53 is out of alignment on the bottom and is too far back towards the rear of the truck. I tired adjusting it but made things worse. The door rubbed on the front edge against the cab and it would not latch. It was hitting the striker too low. A neighbor helped me get it back to the way it was and it would shut and latch. Is there any information on how to adjust these old doors?

Yes. The Shop Manual had very detailed instructions on rigging the doors. You should be able to get one on eBay or other FTE sponsors.
