This is a 2004 f150 2wd. just hit 103,000 miles Im trying to figure out a squeek/rubbing sound coming from the driver side front wheel. It only makes this sound when you turn the wheel. I took the wheel off and checked for any kind of rubbed spots of any kind but nothing. The brakes, calipers, rotors are all new about 3000 miles on them, but i dont think this is the problem. The only thing I can possbily see it being is mabye a bearing. The tie rod looks good, ball joints good. I have heard somthing like this before when the dust cover was too close the the rotor and when you turned the wheel it was just enough, to make a noise. There was no movement when I rocked the tire back and forth to check for a bad bearing.
Could be the lower or upper control arm bushings ! Does the sound occur when you rock the truck up and down ? If you notice when you turn truck hard left or right the A arm actualy moves....... If so you must replace entire A arm due to the fact that the bushings are permenently installed !

Ok figured it out, bad bearing on the rotor. Hmm and it was new. Thanks for the input though. It only would happen if i would rock the tire back and forth, holding the top of the tire.
