hey guys. im bout to order a chip. but i need the pcm code. i found where the connector is but i dont see the code??? help me please. and im looking at the phoenix 6 position chip from PHP and im looking at the TW 6 position chip. which one is better???? pros and conns? i have a 1996 ford f250 7.3. auto tranny. silverline stacks, 4" lift, 35"bfg tires. thanks to anyone!!
You'll need a mirror to read the PCM code, it's on the side of the PCM case that's closest to the fender.Or if you remove the emergency brake and look in thru there there will a plastic piece that covers the slot where the chip plugs in. It will also have the code on a label on that cover. The code will be 3 letters followed by a number. Yours is probably NAW4
okay thanks. ill pry go with php cuz its a little cheaper. but im gettin// stock, smokeshow,40 hp tow, 100hp performance, 120hp race, 140hp extreme. will i beable to get that kind of horsepower out of my truck with no other mods? and how many horse is the smokeshow and can you drive a ways on it with out messing anything up? thanks again man

The most you are going to get with a Stock truck is about 50-70 HP. If you really want more you have to buy injectors.
And as you have an auto tranny that is a weak point with more power, thats the reason Rog asked that IMO
i have those tunes besides the 40 tow, smoke show is 140 extreme, 140 aggressive are the same exact tune just one is more lopey, the smoke show is very hard to drive in, the pedal is super touchy, not smokey when you drive and hammer on it, but smokey at idle with low boost. PHP tunes very well and does not smoke a lot when you got on it, if you want smoke then try dp or another brand, but php is very efficient and well tuned, im happy with their tunes. WHEN YOU INSTALL THE CHIP, the shift points S#$k, drive the truck 2 or 3 times and shut it off inbetween then the computer will learn the shift points and it will be all good again!
if you want full potential out of the chip you will need to let it breath and exhale, ive got a straight pipe with a downpipe and an intake and i love how the truck runs, im getting stacks soon thoe. that will be pretty much full potential for breathing
i have stock, high idle(1100), 80 economy,100 race,120 extreme and 140 smoke show, let me know if you want to know anything about the tunes or shift points

Your truck stock is rated 215hp @ the flywheel, with drive train loss that's aout 175-180 @ the rear wheels. Here is about what you'll see with the stock injectors @ the rear wheel. The stock A code injector is good for about 100 hp.
