Stock 6.4 dyno results

Well went to the fund raiser here for cancer today and put the truck on the dyno. Didn't expect the results to be fantastic as I have the off road tires that are heavier than stock and the truck only has the banks air ram on it.

So results are 3300 rpms = 388.50 max torque at the wheels. This was in third gear at around 47 mph.

So here is the link for my album with the results as I cannot post the pics in here.

Seems a bit low to me....

Assuming a 30% driveline loss, you'd have around 455tq/245 HP...

Your 245 HP seems right, but only 388 lb-ft seems low....I wonder why...

Upon thinking about this further, since this was the first time this guy did this he probably did not get the most out of it that he could of, he shut it down pretty quick when the motor still had more to go.

Thanks for the results but that seems low to me as well. I was expecting at least another 20-30hp and also an additional 50-60ft lbs torque. I'm thinking he let off early and these aren't quite 100% accurate but maybe I'm wrong. These #'s might just burst a few bubbles around this site, haha.

Yeah I know they arn't right. How could they be when I have pulled my 8k TT and still got some rubber off the line?

Different gears get different results and obviously RPMs will change your out put. Pm or Email the guy from spartin he is always dyno-ing his truck. Ask what gear he pulls from. I am sure he has the best gear figued out.
You also said you "had off road tires on" if they are bigger or heavyer you will loose HP and TQ

Ya dynos are tricky! Even people who are experienced with them can get inconsistent results. Trap speed! That is how we figure HP!

However, compared to my 6.0 vs this 6.4 stock to stock, this 6.4 feels a little slower. I am not sure if how quiet and smooth things are is giving me a false impression. But I do think the 6.0 has more pep. It is just the initial get up and go of the 6.4 stock that seems to dog a little.

Here's one for comparison, done by K&N to boast about their air intake. It has a stock run compared to one with their air intake.

I'd never, EVER put an oiled filter on my new truck...unlike a gasser, lots of damage can be done to expensive turbos if they don't filter properly.....

I just want to know how you get rubber in one of these trucks period.

When I had the stock conti craps on the truck. 1st time pulling I still though I had my 06 gasser. With the gasser I had to put it to the floor, so that is what I did..got some rubber.

Really can't now with the coopers Unless I am turning.

Drum based dynos are not the best for Diesel engines, do to the low revving, high torque nature of the engines. For the best and most accurate results, you would want to use an electrical or hydraulic dyno that is capable of loading the engine up at a variety of RPMs.

Yes I will dyno again, but this time I will be a little smarter about it and make sure it is set properly for the truck. May do a search around here for someone with a better setup.

6-gun is back ordered so I guess it will be in around 2-3 weeks.
