We know what his problem was. How bad is your blowby?
Im not sure Chris, Its still sitting at the shop 200 miles away. Im going to trailer it home tues or wednesday. I told them to stop working (experimenting) with it. Im not paying $90 hour for someone to guess whats wrong.
I trust the guys here more. between all of us, Im sure there is'nt much we havent seen.
Then there's no reason to get worked up about it yet. Let us know when you get it home and we'll all put our heads together and see what we can come up with.
Im leaving in the morning (mon) to go get her. I borrowed my neighbors 01 F350 PS dually and his Bobcat trailer. Lord willing, she will be home Mon evening.
I got her home!!!!!
Its not running all that bad...considering how bad it was running. Still has a bad miss, and shakes, but its not smoking any more. I think the smoke was just the residual from the #1 injector swap.
I was able to drive it up on the trailer on its own power. I had to get a running start, but I did it.
The valve covers are coming off thurs. I think I should start there first? Check all the wires for grounding, the wiring harness under the VC.
Ill start unplugging injectors from there, and double check they are all oiling properly.
Im going to pick up a multi-meter also, to check the ohms.
If I missed anything, please chime in. Im going to try and get this bug worked out one step at a time.
Going out on a limb here, but is there any chance all this is just due to the air in the fuel and oil system from pulling the injector? The smoke being caused by residual oil in the cylinder. Its a SWAG I know but...

Honestly Im not totally sure, It was my first injector swap. The three mechanics at the shop said it should have cleared up right away, but it didnt? Do you think I should let her run for a while? I dont want to do any more damage. Plus I think I had more than one injector go out. It would barely idle when It first lost power.
With the new injector, it idled smoother, but still has no power, and a miss.????
Frank, I've never done injector swaps myself so I can't say if running it a bit will help or not. I just know that when we get air in the fuel or oil system that these trucks run horribly until that air gets worked out. When you said it was running better when you loaded it on the trailer I just got to wondering.
After changing an injector, you'll see a decent amount of smoke when you start the truck for the first time. Then it will idle and run A LITTLE rough for about 30-50 miles or so until the air is purged out of the rails.
Pull the valve covers, have a multi meter handy (a torque wrench would also be a good idea) and let us know what you find.
