Transmission Identification Help Needed
I have a truck with the 400M motor in it. I had to remove the tranny because the front seal was leaking pretty good. Anyway it's got a square pan with 11 bolts and the dip stick screws into the side of the pan. It has the following numbers on it:
C8ZP - 7D027-A
10A
17
D50P7006AA
I was told it's an FMX but I want to be sure. I was told it could be a C4. The only thing I can figure from the numbers is it's a 1975.

IF memory serves me right,
FMX 13 bolt Rectangle pan with notch in corner
C4 11 bolts and square
C6 17 bolts and if you are under the truck it has a tip to the back of the pan

Separate bell, aluminum case.
MX trans would be aluminum bell, iron case IIRC.
