If you want to blow $400 on that CFM part and gain nothing then by all means do it! But your going to gain nothing... Its pretty, but unless your collecting purses then... pretty doesnt cut it.
So if I hear you right, what you're also trying to say is that the heat transfer in the stock unit from the output from the turbo to the cooled post intercooler charge is negligible then?
The reason why the intakes make a differance on the 6.0, 5.9 and such is due to air flow, they flow better.
There really is not much room if any to improve the airflow on the 7.3, it has to be the same shape as the stocker more or less. I ported mine a bit to clean it up, cant say it helped, but it didnt cost me anything.
Thanks for the info and feedback. I guess the question that's really on my mind despite the CFM product or making my own, is there any real benefit? Are the charge temperatures that much better or worse pre-sprider and post-spider? I guess the only way to really find out would be to install two Autometer air temp gauges and do some tests.
