I have a 1994 F-250 long-wheel base, and my headlights turn on but my runnning lights dont work at all. The other night they were working fine, and then a cop pulls me over, and says i had no running lights. So i was driving home when i looked in my mirror and my running lights were on. I need help, and couldnt find anything in the other threads to help me out. My running lights would work, then not. And when i turned my light switvh to the left it made my running lights brighter, and when it went to the right, it made them dimmer. And my dash lights are always on.
kinda sounds like the headlight switch, when mine was going out i had headlight and running lights, but i couldnt get them to come on together, if one was on the other was off.

+1, i keep an extra head light switch in my box along with other stuff these go so often.
And I just added a third relay for the running lights on mine since I tow trailers so often with even more marker lights added to the runnig light circuit.
One of the best mods you will ever do to your lighting.
P.S. if you running lights get bright and dim when you rotate the switch and you dash lights are on at a constant level, it sounds like the insturment lights and running lights wires are reversed.
I found out what the problem was. Every time i would switch my lights on or off, my cd player would flicker and skip. So i pulled my cd player out, found out a wire that goes to my running lights was spliced into a wire that controls my dimmer, plus on top of that, those two wires were spliced into the remote wire for my cd player. i took those three wires apart and taped the ends off. Everything started working normal. Except now for some reason, when i turn my lights on it still flickers my cd player and makes it skip, and when i turn my truck off, with the keys out of it, and turn my lights on, the cd player comes on too. Then i find another thing, whoever had this truck before me (and im guessing their the smart ones who spliced into the dimmer and park light wires) wired the cd player directly to the battery with a fuse between them. I dont know if that matters or not, but somehow, somewhere that cd player is still connected to my lights. Also, my running lights no longer dim when i turn the switch, they now stay on brighter than ever when i have my lights on. And my dash lights dim and brighten how they should when i turn the ****.
someone wired the acc power on the cd player(usually red wire) to the lighting wires.some people............i would just tear out the cd player and completely rewire.
One for the main power usually switched by the key.
One for the clock/memory that must stay hot at all times.
One for the insturment lights that dim the display at night.
That said, I sure have seen many stereo installations that have messed up the vehicle electrical systems that they were installed in.
