everyone keep posting there is some interesting things found in our old trucks, some valuable, but mostly garbage or something disgusting or even the thing we all hate to find....RUST!
When I got my 78 short bed I found an old porno tape in the leather pouch behind the seat attached to the cab. Curiosity got the best of me so I had to take it in the house to play it. It was old 80's **** recorded off of a scrabled station. Poor quality but the look I got from the wife was priceless. When I got the saddle gas tank for my dump truck from the junk yard for $20 it had almost 15 gallons of gas in it. At the time gas was around $4/gal. Yes I used it. In side the tank I found about 7 heavy duty paper towels, an air hose quick connect, and the bottom half of a "Heart" concert T-shirt. (from when those chicks were hot)
Haven't found anything cool in my current '78, but I haven't cleaned the interior out yet. So far, cigar wrappers and match books.
While taking the dash apart in my old blue truck, I found a crack pipe and a cheap lighter together.
Someone had placed a wooden plant bed in the back of the seat that was littered with junk. Receipts, old motor oil (in cans!), pens, etc...and a Visa credit card.
On another old truck, someone placed a mechanic's rag, heavy duty gloves, a vinyl apron, and a shovel under the bed by the gas tank.

dam Jermafenser that last truck sounds like something out of a Steven King novel, if only that truck could talk, i bet it would have a story and a half

Sometime in the early '90s at the least. They began changing over to plastic bottles in the late '80s. I remember using can openers on motor oil then. When they switched over to plastic bottles, it was always messy because the original design made the oil stored inside the bottle hiccup and splatter all over the engine when poured.
The Visa card was from when Visa stood alone. The card was just the old Visa logo that expired in 12/1979.
on my 79 sc i am working on now i cut an access panal out below the rear side windows to clean out the dirt and gravel to dynamat every thing, undercoat to seal and install speakers/led lights and i also found a metal tag with the vin # i have no idea how that would even get in there as there is no other holes that i can see the vin # is for this truck
on my 78 reg cab i also found a wrench in the tail light area
on another 79 sc i had years ago found tons on wedding confetti in the heater vents takeing the dash apart what a pain that was
to clean that up!! it also had an old playboy mag under the pass side battery [early 70s] but time/moisture/and acid made it worthless
you'd be suprised what all was in the walls of the pentagon, we were working on wedge 2 doing asbestos abatement, and the demo crews found all kinds of old stuff the construction workers left in there. lol Nothing racey, but it was neat looking at some of the old news papers and other junk they pulled out of there. lol
In my truck (it was my dads old farm truck) I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. Under the seat in the back (i have a Supercab) i found some jumper cables, a socket set, screw drivers, plastic drinking cup, pens/pencils, notepad. Nothing crazy.
