when i bought my 77 ford f150 off an old farmer i found about 30 bucks in change under the seat and from were the vinyl seat had cracked in the middle i found close to $450 bucks stuffed in the seat when i ripped it out. funny thing is i gave $500 for the trucks (MAJOR SCORE). a $50 dollar truck that ran and drove. couldnt get much luckier than that. only thing is though i ended up spending $200 of it to get it home after it broke down on me half way lol. what a son of a beach. i think that truck didnt want to leave the old farmer but it knows me now and its the best old truck ive ever owned
I found a loaded .38 with the numbers removed under the back seat of a Bronco I parted out. It had been sitting behind a shop for several years after it had been abandoned for a mechanics lien. Don't know if it was the previous owner's or if it had been ditched at some point.
rcrawler did you ditch it or fire it. ive found guns in cars that ive baught from auctions. some stashed under the dash (had number) and some stashed in the breather box (no numbers)
I had my 79 F-100 sb delivered to me from Calif. to ILL. and when I removed the dash I must had hundereds of the wierdest spiders crammed together from one side to another. And they were alive. Spiders that we've never seen around here before...Freaky...
When I got my 77 home and started gutting thie inside....I found a nasty pair of the p/o dirty underwear under the seat. I used a screwdriver I found as well to throw them out, the screwdriver went with it!!! LOL
i bought a 74 f100 when i got it home found a plywood smowman, mrs snowman, 3 plywood candy-canes.... and in the glove box found a deck of playboy playing cards.
Lets see, my 78, some change, a pouch with .22 hornet shells in it, which turned out to be my friend's, he owned the truck about 2 years before I did, a crap load of used shells in the heater duct, and one time a full wasp nest under the bed rail. I was moving some stuff in to the back of it and all of a sudden a bunch of wasps came out all sorts of pissed off! Thank god I had a can of brake cleaner close by and my other truck close by.
So far, I've found a $50 bill in the glove box stashed in an envelope; a pair of round 6" Sparkomatic speakers mounted in the doors with no wires running to them (and the door panels are still intact); a coiuple old yellowjacket nests around the door hinge area; and the PO left a Hi-Lift jack securely mounted to the inside of the bed.
Trailered a Model A street rod about a hundred miles down the highway the other day. When we unloaded it we found a live 375 H&H Magnum cartridge had been rolling around on the roof the whole way.

When I lived down in CA last year I was helping a friend bring home a $500 '64 Chevy and we had to spend 30+ minutes powerwashing all the spiders and hornets nests off of it before we were willing to even touch it. When I opened the hood the biggest black widow I've ever seen was sitting on the radiator cap. I almost called it a day at that point.
In my truck, I found a handful of good .22 shells (I've since fired them) in my vents when I replaced my heater core. My girlfriend recently found an earring under the seat of my truck that wasn't hers. I don't know who it belonged to (probably the gal who owned the truck before me), but you can bet I got an earful that day...
I had a complete rolling chassis sitting beside my dad's garage covered up with a tarp. Probably been there a couple of years.
We were getting ready to move it, I pulled the bungees off the tarp and threw it open. Between the frame rails from the front of the transmission crossmember back to where the frame goes up was the largest yellow jacket nest I've ever seen. After an "Oh sh!#!!" moment, we regrouped in the house to let them settle back down and then fogged it with several cans of spray.
It was at least 4 ft long, spanned the entire width of the inside of the frame, and was approx 6-8" deep. I have pictures of it somewhere.

OUCH!!! I had a girlfriend that found an old note from a former girlfriend in the back seat pocket that I'd forgotten about. Geesh that was rough! lol
