A4LD pump failed!

A4LD pump failed!
Finaly got that rotten A4LD out tonight and found the pump broke up!! It wiped out the brand new TC in the process too. Not sure if they will warranty it with this dammage(the TC 1 year warranty). At least I have the pump assy from the original tranny which is good and the old TC too. I doubt much if any crap from the failed pump went through the tranny, once the oil flow stopped. HAve not pulled the pan yet to see what chunks are there but where the pump mates to the case, all passage ways are clean from the pump assy.
I also talked about making up a adapter for a AOD tranny to the 2.9l, well that aint going to happen as the starter motor is right in the way of the oil filter and there is no room to boot! Might stuff a 4.9L/AOD in there insted of a 302........

I'd still flush out the lines just to be sure. I kinda do not think any warranty would be applied, due to the fail being caused by the pump, and not the TC itself. But you never know..Might be worth the effort to clean it out as best you can and give it a shot.

I'll flush them and also put a inline tranny filter too. From what I found I must of put the outer gear ring in backwards. Reread the overhaul book again and made sure I don't wipe out another pump! I know the pump is aligned as a very helpful transmission tech showed me a trick on how to do that. Take the TC and use it as the alignment tool. Does the alignment and also depth check in one shot.
