I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Lightning but am wondering what kind of mileage you guys are getting. Please only reply if you've actually monitored your mileage...
I have a 2001, average about 12 both in town and on the highway. By and large, it doesn't much matter how I drive it either, so long as boost pressure stays in a vacuum for the most part.
I drove it from Seattle to Chicago, got about 12.2 mpg.
I drive it 18 miles per day one way to work in stop and go traffic, it gets about 11.5.
If your thinking about buying a Lightning, and fuel efficiency is a concern, you are definately looking at the wrong vehicle. And on top of everything else, it requires 91 octane fuel, so you have to pay more for gas.
