Good Morning to all my friends in Wyoming! I'm anticipating an abbreviated work day.....departure possible around 2....or maybe noon...depending on my mood!!
Good morning Miles, Pat, Ken, and all others that come this way this morning. Another beautiful day but had to put up with doom and gloom yesterday to get this. I thought it was going to be bad through the weekend but looks like it could be good after all.
Today my youngest goes to his grandparents and my oldest is coming down this evening to visit and then tomorrow I will take him to D.I.A. for his first ever flight in an airplane to go to Austin Tx. I think he is quite possibly excited as he has called me twice since 6 a.m. to make sure he has everything he needs and all is good on my end.
I have had to rethink this thing a little though for he is 28 in a month........never been on a plane of any kind and he is going to see his girlfriend whom he will drive back to Wyoming with once he gets there. I guess I would be a little excited too.
Morning Orin. It's beautiful here today, hence my early departure! I can remember my first plane ride, from Omaha to Kansas City. I was about 10, and flew by myself. Times are a lot different now, I don't think I'd stick a ten year old on a plane by themselves! I hope you son enjoys the trip!

I check with him later as he should get to Austin before I can get back home. I think now if you put a younger person on a plane that they must be accompanied by an adult or you can hire a plane attendant to sit with your child if you are unable. Now with all the things that must be done to board and then get back off I could not amagine turning your child loose in something like that alone.
Your story of your first plane trip reminded me of the spring in 1969 when my grandparents and I went to Laramie to get my cousin who came by train alone from Washington state. He was 12 at the time. Things have changed so much since then.

Thankyou, I feel like I' am going to need all the luck I can get with this garden as it has been very dry here these past few years and think at this moment I may be past frost but have to hurry and get it in now in hopes of getting a good start before the temps start up to around 105 f. This clay we have here will by then want to set up like concrete and the hot breezes will sap any water out of the ground at that point. Most definetely will want to mulch as much as possible.
