So that's why my F350 sits higher in the rear over the F250HD. Thought it had heavier springs - that sucks.
What about the front? Are they also the same between a F250HD & a F350?
All the F250HD had the TTB front axle... and I think they all had the D50 but I'm not sure and they might have had the D44. The difference in height comes from the reverse arch of the front springs and the larger rear blocks.
An F250HD has a leaf-sprung Dana 50 TTB. F350s have the Dana 60 solid axle front end. The springs are also different, the F250 uses springs with either almost no arch or a slight negative arch. The F350 uses springs with positive arch.
Thanks! Yes, my F350 with the front monobeam axle has the springs arched positively, slightly. At least I think it is. Are those the same springs as the famous AAL that is popular for front-end spring swaps?
According to my shop manual, F250HD's never had a 300 or 302 in them. 73-79 and 80-86 were available with the 300 and 302 in a 3/4 or 1 ton chasis, but I'm pretty sure that stopped in 87. If a F250HD has a 300 or 302, it was put in there by somebody.

+1 My 250HD has the D50 front with the negative arch springs and a 351.
What are the main differences in the frame itself?
Is there any difference between F-150 2wd and F-250 2wd frames?
Will all the 8lug parts bolt to the 1/2 ton?
Are the F-150 I-beams the same as the F-250 where you can just swap the knuckles and brakes or do you have to swap the I-beams over and bolt them to the f-150 crossmember?
Im curious to why you were asking. I was just researching the same thing.
My plan was to make my reg cab shortbox 2 wheel drive, into a 4 wheel drive. I have a few cheap f250's lined up, and I was just researching to see if I could essentially take off all of the suspension from the f250 and bolt it onto the f150 frame, diffs and everything, get some driveshafts made and have a reg cab shortbox f250. (not like I would use it as one, but it would be neat to have it heavier duty, and have 8 bolt rims on it!)

Well
I want to do a reg cab short box 92-96 style 2wd with a 6.0.
If the F150 frame can handle it I'd put it in that and then just bolt up stronger drivetrain (8lug).
If the F150 frame can't handle it I can get a F250 and shorten the frame for a short box.
I found a complete super duty for engine/trans/wiring.
