It lives!
It has been 9 momths since I purchased my 66 F250 during which time I fought through what may be the longest disc brake / power steering upgrade since Henry Ford started building cars. I'm working 70 hours a week so finding time to work on the truck has been a challenge. Today I was able to drive it to the courthouse to obtain the plate and to apply for a title.
The brakes worked great and the powersteering performed as expected (easy to steer). The roads were wet and the handling made me feel a bit uneasy. I did a field alignment. I'll need to find a shop to perform a real alignment.
I could not have performed the upgrade without the many helpful responses to my posts and from existing threads on pertinent topics. I was saved time, money and aggrevation my the contributions of many. Thanks to all who helped!
I have some adjusting to do to the shifter linkage to the COM transmission as it jumped out of gear a few times during the 5 mile drive and only one forward speed is available. I need to deside on gas tank options. The one gallon antifreeze jug worked for today but, will soon be replaced. I think the COM will at a minimum need to be serviced. The 66 428 awaits installation. I've never installed an engine before. So further learning is on the horizon.
