Duraspark 2
Kragen Autoparts does have some good quality parts, incuding Motorcraft, Holly, Bosch, Borg Warner, etc... but you have to ask for them specificly, otherwise you will get the cheap stuff they sell to the average consumer.
Your first choice should be FORD MOTORCRAFT. You might be surprised, some of their stuff is comparable to the cheap stuff. And Motorcraft parts last; they are some of the best out there.
If that is not available, CarQuest and NAPA sells some pretty good parts. And around my area, the parts counter in these stores are actually knowledgeable about parts and diagnosing problems.
I would NOT buy anything electrical from AutoZone, Advance Auto, O'Reilly, Kragen, Checkers, etc, unless they are selling Motorcraft parts. Sometimes you might get lucky, but my experience is their house brand products are garbage. They might offer you a "lifetime warranty," but that doesn't mean it will last anywhere close to that. Before I knew any better, I replaced my starter THREE times in a year, my fuel pump TWICE, distributor TWICE, and alternator TWICE. All of these parts needed replacing again within a year. Yes, they honored the "lifetime warranty," but my time is more valuable and the hassle is just not worth it.

oh man i know what you mean.. ive put i'm guessing 15 U joints in my mustang.. the "lifetime" ones.. they replaced them every time i brought them in without a problem.. but i finally got fed up listening to the creaking of the crappy U joints and bought a good one.. that's the one ive had in for over 4 years, no problems!
in short. buy your parts from who you need them from. i didnt say autzone was god or somethin
, the cables from Napa, and kragen aren't of the right size/pull (either hard to get in and keeps throttle open too far, or doesn't open throttle fully)
also no matter where you go to get your parts, or what name it has on them, theres always a chance that it will fail. so if you have an opinion on where you like to get your parts thats fine. a good example is those two up there. he said he liked his parts from Kragen, yet the guy after him doesnt like getyting his parts there. its a matter of preference. not a matter of quality.
finally got a call from autozone, they told me (After waiting about 3 weeks) that the carburetor wasnt in stock, so i got my money back. if anyone has an 80 F350 non feedback acarb just sitting around. Please. let me know!
