the ports are definately on the pcv. it could be the wrong one, but it says motorcraft on it. the pcv and the two oulets come apart, so maybe it was added. or maybe a cap was on it and it cracked and fell off.
this is why i am so stumped, but i can't figure where else another hose would go.
I know what you mean... The pcv itself has the plastic top with 2 openings on it. The pcv for my truck has 2 also, but I pull the plastic piece off and run the hose onto the metal part of the pcv. That's there because different cars/trucks and engines may use the same pcv and therefore they put all the potential ports on them.
If your hose goes to one of them, there should be a plug that comes with the pcv to 'cap' off the second open hole.
Everyone, thank you for all your help! that is the picture of my pvc and engine. The cap must have gotten brittle over time and fell off. I wanted to be sure, because i didn't want to cap something that was supposed to supply vacuum somewhere. hope i didn't hurt it driving it around with it open.
thanks again.
