Estimate me a hp amount?
I have a 1972 ford f100 sport custom automatic transmission 390cc 6.4l big block engine(stock with a spacer between the stock carb). Will anybody give me a estimate me a horse power range please??

The truck 390 was only 255 horses back in the day of real horsepower (pre-1972). Under the new rating system I would venture to say closer to 200 hp.

From the 1979 Motor's Truck Repair Manual (not always accurate):
1972 2bbl 390, 8.2:1 compression, 201HP@4400RPM, 316ft/lbs@2600RPM.
Almost the same engine, but from 1971, BEFORE the "net" HP/torque specs were used:
1971 2bbl 390, 8.6:1 compression, 255HP@4400RPM, 376ft/lbs@2600RPM.
Notice the compression difference. Not sure if that's real or not.

thanx but i just got the truck so im ot really sure whats done to it at first i was tols it is stock not im told it got a cam and minor work doen to the heads so idk but when i find out for sure i will get back and let yall know whats up. i am only 16 and this is my first vehicle and its gonna be a project!!!
