Help with HP/Torque Calculation

I am new to the FE forum and have been reading several posts. It is evident that the you guys know your stuff. I am writing to see if someone would calculate (estimate) the horsepower/torque of my 390 using desktop dyno. I had the engine rebuilt, but it is not currently installed as I am trying to complete my 1955 Ford F100 project. Below are the parts in my engine. Any help you would give me would be much appreciated. Thanks, Lance

Your build is damn near the same specs as a 66 GT390. 320-325hp/425 ft/lbs torque.

410 heads were standard 390 items they should have C5 or C6 numbers for the 66-67 410 production run.
That Performer I would change to a Performer RPM if it were my motor.

Beemer Nut

I do have the Performer RPM intake manifold. My mistake for not correctly listing that information. Sorry.

For the RPM and the headers, that would add a few horses on the topend, you'd be looking at about 350 horses.

Baddad457,

Thank you. Would you know what my compression ratio would be? Just wondering if I will have to run high octane fuel or E85.

Seeing the power curve on a chart will show you that at 5250 rpm, horsepower equals torque. I'd be curious about rate at which your combination attains that intersection and what it looks like when it falls away. Your combo is very close to what I have in my 53. I haven't started it up yet so I'm not quite how it will work out. if someone sends you the chart, it would be great to see you post it.

I'd guess around a 9.75 to 10.0 to 1 ratio, but with that cam, you'll probably have to run 93 octane premium or back off the timing a good bit. I've had two similar builds with more cam overlap and C8AE-H heads (better quench) that had a 10.25-10.5 to 1 ratio that were fine with 89 octane and 12*BTDC initial timing. Start it off with 89 and see what it does, if it's not pinging, give it more timing till it does. If it is pinging at 12* and 89, up the octane to 93. I doubt it would ping at all with E85, but you'd have to jet the carb a lot richer to avoid leaning it out. Can't say for sure, never having run the stuff, but just going by what I know from knowledge picked up hearing about alky-hol
