The coolant filter setup from Dieselsite is absolutely top notch!! very nicely engineered piece, and works great too!!
Only 1 note is that IF you have the LONGER around the belt upper radiator hose it WILL rub the actual filter element.....I don't like stuff rubbing on hoses so I went back to the through the belt hose like my truck came with.
I just changed my filter after about 6k miles running and boy you should have seen the small particles of crap that came out of it!! they say the first one will be that way and from then on out it shouldn't be very dirty at all.
Well, if your t-stat housing looked like this after my 100,000 mile changeover to ELC from the gold I would do a complete flush, new billet hosing from DM and then the coolant filter of your liking..
I'm installing the DieselSite coolant filter, 203* T-stat, billet housing, and the Cat Long life Red coolant when I do my engine swap. Going to do a total flush cause the motor had green before and the truck had gold so it needs cleaned out REALLY, REALLY good!!
I still need to pick up a coolant filter, billet housing, new stat, pump, and coolant... so far my leak seems to have stopped so I've put it on the back burner... no telling when it's gonna come back and kick me in the rear! My poor truck has so much crap that needs done

Yeah I had that problem as well and didn't like it. I took my coolant filter off, but I am going to relocate it under the truck on the frame as soon as I get some more hose.
I installed one about three years ago... First filter lasted about 8000 miles, second about 20000...
Then when I blew the motor, I went thru one filter within 1000 miles, again by about 5000 miles and again at 8000k... The last one has been there for about 40k now and is still working fine, but that tells you how much crap is in those motors! I have my coolant temp probe after the filter, so when the coolant gauge stops working that means the filter is plugged!
