With all that around, go 347 and a mild torque cam, that would do you quite well... That being said, mine runs quite well at damn near 300k, stock size LT tires, stock gears and an AOD. Of course I am in a F150...

When I had my 88 it had a 302 and i was really disapointed in it. I mean, for an engine that's played off as fast in a stang. When I sold it I picked up an 84 with the 300 I6. Darn thing doesn't dissapoint. 150,109 origional miles and many more to go! I'd say if your 302 aint hackin it, drop a 300 in there. You won't be disapointed(unless you're trying to race another with a 351 since the 300's ment for towing and low-end, not racing. Just my 2 cents.
