LOW OIL pressure
I have a 1990 f150 with low oil pressure and bad acceleration. I have already tried the oil additaves and engine flush but no help. I have the gauge not the idiot light. If it was just the low pressure I would replace the sending unit but my truck has lost his ***** as well. It runs fine when I get up to speed but its the getting up thats the problem, (kinda like me, LOL)

I used 20w50 oil in the 90 F-250 5.8 I had when the oil pressure was low as well and it helped with that. The low pressure I experienced was probably due to excessive wear on the mains and thrust bearings. Low oil pressure and a leaky rear main seal can be an indication. If it's bearing wear, then the heavier oil will get you by, but it's not a fix, and not the best oil to use in colder temps either.
