Ive got an 84 with a 300 six. ive swapped out the old feedback carb for a not computer controlled. someone told me i have to change out the distributor now. What do i need to swap vac advance? also my truck seems to be dieseling when i cut it off since the carb swap nalso idling rough .any ideas?

yea you need the duraspark ignition module and a vacuum advance dist.plus the harnes to join the 2 together.your truck should run better with that combo.the feed back carb talks to the computer along with the dist and the 02 sensor,to adjust your timing and a/f ratio.
so i was looking to swap over in a local junkyard so can i still use the stock coil ? when i search for the duraspark ignition module what exactly am i looking for? sorry just got this truck and never really owned anything with a carb or dizzy.
