Proud owner of an 04' XLT 4x4, 5.4. I bought it in Sept 08 with 64,000 miles and some change. I love this thing, just wish I had the V10, or make my 5.4 have a little more ***!! Amu suggestions? I was thinking catback, but can't find one for my engine class, just the oil burners.

OP - Thanks for that info. Being an 05'er, I feel like I am in a really small minority.

Wow, I have 1 of only 24,000 built, and by now several of them have been taken off the road. Hummm, might have to story mine after awhile.
You should be able to write Ford with the Vin # and they should be able to pull the build sheet for your vehicle and that build sheet will tell you what number in the production line, date, time of day, inspectors number, Etc.

I dont believe you are looking at the inline production number, that is usually only found on the build sheet that is usually located under one of the seats.
I think what you are looking at is the inspectors identification number,

Your probably right. There's no way mine is 363 if Excursion production started around October.

What your looking at is a rotation number for the parts supplier. Get parts in all the time with similar stickers.

Didn't cafe mileage & emissions play into the ending of the Godzilla of Suv's?

I think the decline in sales was more to blame.

And I think the poor reputation of the 6.0L diesel caused the decline in sales.

You two are probably both right.

On a side note, I completely despise CAFE It is absolutely worthless.
