206,561...

206,561... is the number of Excursions produced during it's 6 year product cycle.

This, in case you all are wondering, comes straight from an email sent to me by Ford.

Here are the production figures broke down by year.

2000
69,811

2001
36,967

2002
28,398

2003
25,619

2004
21,669

2005
24,097

They did not provide me with any more specific figures (like by model or engine) so this will have to do.

When other models of cars are in millions, I'm proud to say that I have one of only 206,561 sitting in my driveway.

Not quite true. I suspect quite a few have been demolished and quite a few are sitting in junk yards for one reason or another.

All of these have to be deducted from he 206,561. You might have one of 175,000 by now.

I was thinking about all of them that have been lost earlier today. Kind of disappointing.

Yeah, I'm pretty enthused that I have one of the earliest built Excursions. Number 636 built on 1/12/2000 to be exact.

Mine was in the engine bay on a little sticker. It was on the shield above the radiator immediately behind the top of the grille.

It actually has what I'm assuming to be a time of 1:42. So going by that, the Excursion was #636 built on Jan 12, 2000 at 1:42.

I'll post a picture of it tomorrow.

I would think a "rare" Excursion would be a 2 wheel drive with a gas V8 that had front and rear leather bucket seats and a factory DVD player.
Gotta add the rear bucket seats and DVD player to elmiate the goverment orders.
Actually I have never seen a 2WD Excursion except in pictures. Non that I know of in my "neck of the woods".

I couldn't find that sticker on mine but the date on the sticker in the driver's jam says 10/99 on mine. Mine must be one of the first too.
