Great minds think alike. Drewsky this is how I installed mine. They are the same seatbelts that you used out of a Ford pickup.

That buckle design seems to have been used in Ford products for quite a while and from what I've seen they hold up well even exposed to weather.
Yeah, darksiders tend to think a little different when it comes to a build.

If you're into low buck......the belt buckle deal is about as inexpensive as you can go. I think I have about 5 bucks in 3 buckles out of the salvage yard and 7-8 bucks in the stainless hardware. The rest of the investment was just shop time.
I can't believe this thread was started in 2009.........time sure does FLY when you're having fun. I had intended to follow up on it.......just didn't intend to wait 3-4 years to do it.
After driving the wheels off of my truck and dealing with my flip-flappy nylon straps I've been toying with the idea of changing them out for something else. Digging this thread back up is very timely. I really like what you did with the seat belt latches and the stainles straps.
I think I'll steel the stainless strap idea. Thanks for sharing it with us.
