i went to the advertisement, this thing can do a lot!! But it mentions a lot of things our truck dont look at.. so I was asking , kind of, what can be added to this gauge so as you can see everything it mentions.. I might need to relook at the advertisement, but now that I have, it appears to be like a functional scan tool.. Kind of cool.. but then.. do I wan tto see what the engine os doing, and then what my engine thinks its doing by having both sets..and for me.. I already have sensory overload watching the gauges and the smoke at the same time
I don't think that it will monitor everything as advertised on our trucks, but most things. You have to add sensors for things like fuel pressure and coolant temp. I think that it has two inputs on the gauge to add these additional sensors. I plan on getting one one day to fill the void in my three gauge under the dash pod.
I didnt read all the way through it, but I believe it was Scotts thread, he to is looking at these.. they are very cool for sure.. I am looking forward to hearing about them..
Only the manuals monitor coolant temp. That's one of the things I've been wanting to add -- that and a real oil pressure gauge, so that's why I'm adding those two. It will read a ton of stuff, for sure. I did email Joey at Terminator and he confirmed that with an auto, you have to add sensors to monitor coolant temp & oil pressure (well, oil pressure with either trans). I would do fuel pressure, but I'm doing the "BDrummonds FP Gauge Pod Mod", so I'll have a dedicated gauge for that...
Nolan, why do I have this strange feeling you are going to be calling me.... I have a drill bit and tap for the EGT so let me know when you are ready to get your install on.
So, do you have to cut the plug off one of the gauges and splice them together to get both gauges reading off the single data connector port? Will the voltage variations across the splices change the readings if you do?
i think id you order the two gauge setup they come pre-wired to just plug in so you dont have to splice in. If you buy one and get a second later then you may have to splice.
Correct me if im wrong Nolan.
How accurate is the pyro and trans temp gauge? Cause i would love to have a plug in play system like this if it was as accurate on those two things as an analog.
I have a mechanical boost gauge because i have heard the PCM will cut out at 22LBS if you get a chip and what-not.

If the PCM sees an overboost from the MAP sensor it will defuel the truck. This means that it is not limited from seeing over 22 psi it just means that it defuels at that point.

Scott, Normally splicing into a sensor, suprisingly, does not effect the reading.. We normally have to do a calibration to many of our sensors and gauges, we do so just by piggybacking,..
Well I priced out what it would cost to get the PSD version with the Pyrometer and th came to almost $600
I just bought a triple gauge setup from Clay at Riffraff diesel and got my AE ford enhanced software total about $625
You can do a whole lot more with AE software than you can with the gauge you are talking about here...
To me it just seems a better deal to go with traditional gauges and a good Scan tool software...
