May be the wrong forum but.....
My 05 f250 SD king ranch was broken into. I can't believe how easy it was!!
Just force the lock cylinder back with a big screwdriver and give it a twist.I The only thing holding the lock cylinder in place was a light weight spring wire clip. I was able to remove the door handle assembly and swap the lock with the tailgate lock that I seldom use, but I don't feel very secure.
anybody have suggestions on how to harden this assembly? Ford sure blew it on this one!!
bummer that sounds like a bad deal... I bet you would be able to get more help on the superduty forum. This is mainly for info on the v-10 itself, and not as many people visit this forum, as the superduty forum. Hope you find the tech support there that you need.
There are lots of threads up in the SD forum. Lots of guys have gotten these. Vehicle Security and Theft Prevention Devices I was thinking of getting them but you have to rip the whole dam door apart to put them in. Might want to look into an aftermarket 2-way paging alarm with a decent range on it. Some claim 1 mile range which is stretching it but I'd say you can get an easy 1,000ft range out of it. If someone breaks into the truck the remote can let you know if the alarms, going off, if a window was broken, a door was opened and etc.
