Exclamation Lock Cylinder Removal?!?!?

My key broke off in the ignition lock cylinder and i cant get it out... does anyone know how to remove the entire lock cylinder assembly??? please help... thanks

take the plastic covers off the colum. u need the key in the on position. on the under side of the cylinder on the colum there is a pin. you have to push that pin in (toward the cylinder) and then pull out. but like said u have to have the key in the on position for 1 the pin to go in 2 to pull it out. the replace ment goes in the same way. key on push in and the pin will "pop" into locked positon.

i have made it that far but cannot find the location of the pin to push in... is it on the underside of the collum? if not where is it?

Look for a small hole. Usually it's pretty close to the where the key is inserted. The flat bottom part of a drill bit works good to push in the pin.

in order to gain access to the hole do i have to remove the steering wheel? because it kind of looks like it... not too sure. thanks again

On my '98, you don't need to remove the shroud or the wheel or anything else. There is a hole accessible from underneath the column. Look for it between the two screws.
