Looking for info on keyed lock cylinders for a '68 F100. The guy I bought the truck from lost the keys and had the ignition redone for this reason. Let me say that first, I know that door locks on trucks this old is a waste of time, but my wife wants locks, so I get locks. You guys know how this goes. Anyway, I bought a set of lock cylinders at a local parts store and installed them. The door latches in my truck require the arm held on by a c-clip to the rotating part of the cylinder have a round, singular arm to disable and enable the lock. Here's the trouble: ALL of the replacement cylinders I have researched have a back-plate with a hole drilled in it to actuate the lock, which will not work in my doors, they all have square vice Ford oval key heads and the cylinders themselves are right-hand cuts, same as the ignition, and they're made in China. Can't find a right-hand cut oval key anywhere in San Diego to give the two-key system the old-school Ford appearance. LMC also sells the generic, right-hand cut cylinders with a square key, and I suspect they are also not made well. I could modify an existing cylinder arm so it just works, but I don't have a machine shop, so it'd be a rigged thing. The parts guys at local Ford dealerships have absolutely nothing to offer by way of parts, info, or opinion.
So, I'm looking for info about non-power lock key assemblies that have Ford oval keys, or info on what door latches will bolt in so I can upgrade.
Old trucks used same key for door/ignition. At least all the bumps I've owned had the same key. Only cars had round/square keys with the round being for the trunk/square for ignition. As per my '64 Galaxie.
I would check the classified here, or like Fordification.com and see if you can find yourself some original locks and then have them keyed to match your ignition. Much simpler way. Fordification is a bump specific site and have plenty of parts listed. I scrapped my '67 a few years ago and sold everything there.
Joe, What happened to the locks that were in the doors when you got it. If you still have them, take them to a locksmith and have them pinned to your ign. key. Piece O cake. One key locks it all.
go to the wrecking yard and buy the door locks and take them to the lock smith and have them rekeyed to fit the ign or do like i did and go the autozone and buy all three

2X. Or watch Ebay. The locks you've found have the wrong lever is because they are actually for Car,rather than Bump. The lock cylinders were the same between Cars And Pickups. Just not the levers. The lock cylinders are not side specific. LH and RH all depends on which way you mount the lever on the back of the cylinder. Ford never sold these Bump levers separate. Ya had to buy the lock.
Hope I made up for my lazy bretheren over there. I am a Ford Partsman also.

I've changed the levers to meet the application. Just remove the clip.
