Fuel filter return hose

Does anyone know where the fuel filter return hose is routed to? (the one on the filter housing next to the schrader valve) Mine has a rubber vacume plug with a zip-tie on it which I assume is only acceptable if you have ever asked a question like: "If you divorce your wife is she still your sister?" and perhaps certain foreign cultures.......
Does anyone know??....about where the return hose goes that is...

It goes to the first injector T on cylinder #1.

Basically, The returns go...

Right Bank.
  1. Filter Head to #1 Injector T.
  2. From #1 Injector T to each Injector T down the Right Bank.
  3. From the last Injector T on the Right Bank to the Cross in the return line to tank.

Left Bank.
  1. IP Pump to #2 Injector T.
  2. From #2 Injector T to each Injector T down the Left Bank.
  3. From the last Injector T on the Left Bank to the Cross in the return line to tank.

There are other layouts, but they operate the same.

Thanks Festus, I figured it was probably simple.

The blocked off filter is not a problem, it actually makes it easier to find a air leak.
I cut mine like you described- also because I have different fuel in each tank and dont want to mix them.

The fuel is still returning to the tank with it blocked off at the filter.
The fuel returns to the tank from the line connected to the two rear injectors, if you block this I belive you will have problems.

That seems logical. Mine has a Hypermax turbo on it and when comparing my system with a factory Ford diagram, it looks like mine is the early U-Haul style filter (with leaking fuel heater and lower adapter housing the water sensor) that reversed #1 with #7 return cap. #1 and #2 are now tied together. The return from the IP is stock flowing back in a hardline to the Tee return at the back of the block. It looks like this was done due to the close proximaty to the rear mounted turbo. Once I get the leak fixed, I intend to temporarily cap the filter return and then T into the line between #1 and #2. Does that make sense or should I run a hard line back to the Tee fitting at the back of the block?

With the turbo the cross over will be at the front instead of the back. Driverside rear goes to the hard line to the tank. sometimes the front T #1 will have three connections so the crossover and the line to the filter can be hooked directly to the cap, sometimes a t is in the line to the filter. Some members have installed a clear line to the filter so they can see if it has air.

Ok, what sportsmobile stated got me thinking....
It doesn't make sense to me, now neither does what I see FACTORY in the book.

So I looked back at my post #2 again, That is incorrect according to factory.

Right Bank is correct, but the Left is wrong.

It goes (According to Factory):

Left Bank.
  1. From #2 Injector 90 to each Injector T down the Left Bank.
  2. From the last Injector T on the Left Bank to the Cross in the return line to tank.

WHERE does the fuel come from for the Left Bank?????
#2 Has a 90 not a T ....

-Enjoy

The clear line makes sense. I may do that too. Still tracking down the o-rings for the fuel heater.
