My truck has a chuffing noise through the exh, so I pulled a random injector and found it was wet with diesel, and had bubbles around the copper crush washer. I pulled 2 others and they were dry. I pulled a random injector because I have done pretty much all the engine tests I know of and couldn't figure it out. The engine was run for 10 min before i pulled the injectors so it wasnt cold. The injector still have the original paint on them, so they may be the originals. The engine has 297,000 kms on it. Could this cause a miss. Could this cause a chuff? Thanks.
Generally you only get about 160000 kilometers out of a set of injectors before the should be replaced. Some get more out of them, but 300000 is a lot by any standard. I wouldn't hesitate to replace them at that age considering they are the factory originals. You could also have them tested and only replace the worst of them, but at that age they are probably due.
A leaking injector will certainly cause a misfire and smoke, but I don't know about chiffing. I've never seen and engine with a chuff so I can't really comment on it.
Theres a few things I would check if I were you first off did you see any bubles coming from around any injectrs? if the copper isn't sealing it will alow compression to escape and cause a cuffing sound. I would also I would run it and see if any of the injector lines are getting abnormaly hot you could have an injector not closing and alowing compression up into it. if you don't have either of thouse I would do a commpression test as the valve could cause it. Since you have the injectors out it may be easyer to roll the engine to TDC compression of each cylinder and presurise it threw the injector hole and listen for leaks at the exhaust and intake. If you have no compression leaks or good compression then i would replace the injectors. If its an injector nozle alowing compression into the injector I would replace all the injectors, f its just a copper leaking i woul just reseal it since it isn't a big deal to change injectors.

I would agree with that. I bet you have a bad copper washer.
The lowest cyl was 420 psi and the highest one was 490 for compression. If the chuff was caused by a valve would I have found say a 260 pound compression cyl. Also to test for leaks around the injectors could i use dish soap. Thanks.
